Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents his credentials to the Pope and the Head of the Vatican
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Holy See Jakhongir Ganiyev has presented his credentials to the Head of the Roman Catholic Church Francis.
The head of the Catholic Church expressed his high respect to the President of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan people. He emphasized that over the years of development of diplomatic relations, the Vatican and Tashkent have accumulated a positive experience of partnership, aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between representatives of different nationalities and religions.
Pope Francis noted the importance of the city of Samarkand as a center of philosophical and religious ideas not only for the Eastern countries, but also for the Western world.
Following the conversation, the Pope noted that he would pray for the wellbeing of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the prosperity of Uzbekistan people.
