Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov visited Azerbaijan’s city of Ganja, where he met with the head of the city’s executive power Niyazi Bayramov.

The parties discussed the possibilities of building up interregional cooperation to enhance trade and cooperation ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan entrepreneurs, develop investment partnerships, and open new joint ventures.

In this regard, the parties agreed to start working out the establishment of twinning relations between Ganja and similar historical and large industrial centers of Uzbekistan. A mutual desire was also expressed to promote the establishment of cooperation between the universities of Uzbekistan and the city of Ganja, including the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University. An agreement was also reached to organize a concert of Uzbek maqom performers in Ganja.
