Hokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Saliyev received a delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.

During the talks, the head of the region informed about the region's economic, social, and investment potential, projects implemented in the automotive and textile industries, production of building materials, agriculture, and tourism, which are the “driver” of the region.

Three investment projects worth $115 million 100 thousand are being implemented in Jizzakh region with the participation of Turkish business entities. As a result of the implementation of these projects, 450 new jobs will be created.

Twelve investment projects worth $327 million 800 thousand were also commissioned in the region with the participation of Turkish entrepreneurs, and 318 jobs were created.

In the first quarter of this year, the Jizzakh region exported products worth $13 million 300 thousand to Türkiye. In turn, in January-February this year, products worth $8 million 500 thousand were imported from Türkiye to Jizzakh region to increase production capacity and expand the activities of enterprises operating in the region.

Forty joint ventures with the participation of Turkish investments have been registered in Jizzakh region, seven active in agriculture, 27 in industry, and six in services.

The Ambassador of Türkiye Olgan Bekar expressed his opinion on the current potential of the region and positively assessed activities carried out in Jizzakh with Turkish colleagues.
