The International Institute for Central Asia hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda.

At the meeting, the guest was informed about the goals of the establishment of the IICA, and the main tasks and directions of the institution’s activities.

The head of the diplomatic mission of Tajikistan noted that thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are further developing. Significant progress has been achieved in promoting a strategic partnership based on the richest traditions of friendship and mutual respect.

The parties discussed issues of implementing the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan on June 10-11, 2021, strengthening regional partnership in Central Asia, further enhancing collaboration between the leading expert and analytical centers of the two countries, as well as the possibility of organizing joint events.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a regular dialogue and exchange of views on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and regional interaction.
