Almost 300 observers of the OSCE/ODIHR Mission will observe the Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan

The main group of the Election Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), consisting of 11 observers led by Eoghan Murphy, arrived in Uzbekistan to observe the elections.

According to the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, the CEC hosted a meeting with the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Mission Eoghan Murphy.

Another 28 long-term observers are expected to arrive next week, Eoghan Murphy said. They will observe all electoral processes in all regions of the country. In addition, 250 observers will arrive in Uzbekistan about 1-2 days before the elections.
