An exhibition “Miniature Art in the Baburid Era” has kicked off at the State Museum of the History of Culture of Uzbekistan in Samarkand on the occasion of the 540th anniversary of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s birth.
Member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis F. Toshev, Deputy Hokim of Samarkand region R. Kobilov spoke about the personality of Babur, his works and the contribution of the Baburids to the development of miniature art.

The exhibition presents copies of the miniature art of the Baburid era, kept in the fine arts fund of the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve.

“Our museum has more than 100 miniature works of the Temurids era”, says the Chief of the Art Department of Samarkand State Museum-Reserve Safura Ruzimurodova. – The exhibition presents two paintings and 24 miniatures of the Baburid era, painted by famous artists P. Vinkov and M. Voroskov. The miniatures depict the periods of the Baburid Empire, episodes of the battles of that era, the image of a person, and his inner world.
