As part of practical plans for long-term cooperation with Aurubis, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex is implementing several activities.
On December 16 this year, the first train with containers loaded with copper concentrate produced by the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex left for Bulgaria’s city of Burgas. This freight train consists of 46 wagons with 91 twenty-foot containers. For the first time, cargo is sent to Europe via an alternative transport corridor through the international Trans-Caspian transport route. The cargo will cover more than 4 thousand kilometers along the route “Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Azerbaijan – Georgia – Bulgaria”. This is almost 1 thousand kilometers shorter than the highway, which is 5 thousand kilometers.
The train was dispatched in cooperation with foreign partners, in particular, with the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan, ADY Container (Azerbaijan) and GR Logistics and Terminals (Georgia).
