A festive event timed to the 580th anniversary of Alisher Navoi’s birth continues at the monument to Alisher Navoi on the Alley of Litterateurs.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan Ahmad Khalid Elmi delivered a speech on the creativity and rich spiritual heritage of Navoi.

“Navoi’s birthday is widely celebrated every year in Afghanistan”, the Ambassador said. – Alisher Navoi is the pride of not only the Uzbek and Afghan peoples but of all mankind. He promoted peace and friendship throughout the world. His literary legacy has united us forever.
