On February 5, Akmal Saidov, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with Dr. Turki bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

Dr. Turki bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud thanked the Uzbekistan delegation for the visit. As mentioned during the meeting, with the political will of the two countries’ leaders and the people’s support, a new page has been opened in the history of mutual friendship and cooperation.

The Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar briefly mentioned that the 4th Universal Periodic Report of the State of Qatar will be considered at the UN Human Rights Council in October 2024. He expressed deep gratitude to Uzbekistan for inviting him to the Samarkand Forum on Human Rights, which will be held in Uzbekistan this year.

According to the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the parties agreed on the development of international cooperation in human rights.
