According to Uzbekistan MFA, the election of members of the UN Human Rights Committee (HRC) for 2025-2028 took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

According to the results of a secret ballot, the candidate from Uzbekistan, Director of the National Center for Human Rights Akmal Saidov, was elected to the HRC, gaining the most votes among applicants from other countries.

The convincing victory of Uzbekistan’s representative in the elections to this essential UN body is primarily the result of the President’s pragmatic foreign policy strategy of building a constructive dialogue with international human rights structures.
