The independence of a country is its most significant value and a symbol of national unity. On September 1, the Republic of Uzbekistan celebrates the 34th anniversary of this historic event. On the occasion of this significant date, the people of Uzbekistan receive congratulations from representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, and foreign experts.

The UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Akiko Fujii emphasized in her address:

“I sincerely congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on the 34th anniversary of independence. It is a great honor for me to share this historic day with you, which symbolizes the country’s aspiration for progress and development.

As President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted in his speech, Uzbekistan has achieved impressive results in a wide range of areas over the past few years. These achievements demonstrate the country’s growing potential and inspire confidence in its bright future.

Uzbekistan demonstrates a clear and consistent vision of sustainable development – from protecting the environment and promoting green initiatives to pursuing a people-centered policy and creating new opportunities for its citizens. All of this reflects the country’s aspiration to build a just, prosperous, and modern future.

I sincerely wish Uzbekistan continued peace, well-being, and new success on its path to development”.         

It is worth noting that the UNDP is one of Uzbekistan’s key partners in implementing sustainable development programs, supporting reforms, and expanding opportunities for women and young people. The organization also actively contributes to projects in the field of the green economy, energy efficiency, and innovative entrepreneurship, making a valuable contribution to strengthening the country’s socio-economic progress.
