Agreements worth $300 million signed at the forum

Uzbekistan – India Health Forum took place.

The event, organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, was attended by representatives of specialized scientific and practical medical centers, medical universities and regional medical institutions, as well as responsible persons from the Indian health sector, representatives of medical universities, leading private medical centers, heads of large pharmaceutical enterprises.

Minister of Health A. Inoyatov informed the participants about the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in medicine, joint projects implemented by Uzbekistan and India in this area.

In 2022, together with the Indian company Nephrocare Health, based on a public-private partnership, hemodialysis centers were launched for 150 places in the city of Nukus and 250 places in Bagat and Urgench districts. Investments for $12 million were invested in these projects. This company has opened another hemodialysis center for 1000 seats in the city of Tashkent.

Since 2020, a 180-bed Zarmed Pratiksha clinic has been operating in the city of Samarkand, created through an investment of $10 million. Last year, Aakash opened a 100-bed clinic with a $10 million investment.

Every year, over 200 specialists undergo training in India’s leading clinics. By the end of this year, it is planned to send more than 1,000 Uzbek medical workers to the leading research centers and clinics of this country for advanced training.

This forum became another important step towards enhancing cooperation. At the two-day event, the participants discussed issues of further enhancing collaboration in healthcare, digitalization, development of medical tourism, expansion of investment projects, implementation of joint programs in medical education. Special attention was also paid to several issues in traditional medicine.

Following the forum, more than 100 agreements were signed with Indian partners for $300 million.
