On February 12 this year, a new agreement was signed between the Afghan Railway Administration and Sogdiana Trans (a subsidiary of Uzbekistan Railways) on the continuation of the operation of the Hairatan – Mazar-i-Sharif railway, Uzbekistan Railways reports.

By the agreement, Sogdiana Trans will serve this section of the railway tracks for two years. The parties also agreed to speed up restoring the delivery of goods to the Mazar-i-Sharif terminal station.

The Uzbek side will also help train specialists from the Afghan Railway Administration.

According to Uzbekistan Railways, on February 10-11, 714 wagons with cargo were delivered to Afghanistan. Delivery of goods continues.
