During his visit to the People's Republic of China, Samarkand region’s Hokim Erkinjon Turdimov met with the Governor of Sichuan Province Huang Qiang.

According to the Regional Hokimiyat, issues of establishing bilateral mutually beneficial relations were discussed at the meeting. It was decided to develop an action plan for further development of cooperation, which will define tasks aimed at strengthening cooperation in pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, metallurgy, agriculture, and tourism.

A corresponding memorandum was signed. A business forum and meetings with representatives of local business circles and entrepreneurs from Samarkand region were also held in Sichuan Province.
