On July 29, the delegation led by the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi visited Samarkand.
Hokim of the region Erkinjon Turdimov met the guests at the railway station of the city of Samarkand.
Members of the delegation, accompanied by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev, visited the holy places of worship and historical monuments of Samarkand.
During a visit to the newly erected complex of Imam Bukhari, surahs from the Quran were recited in honor of the great muhaddith (collector of hadiths).
The guests were informed about the ongoing construction work in the complex. They were greatly impressed by the new mosque for ten thousand people, the conditions that will be created for pilgrims.
Amir Khan Muttaqi visited the Hazrati Khizr mosque, which is considered the first mosque in Central Asia, as well as the mausoleums of Khuja Doniyor and Amir Temur, got acquainted with the museum complex of Mirzo Ulugbek and the observatory.
