The delegation led by the President of the Asian Development Bank Masatsugu Asakawa visited the ancient and eternally young Bukhara.
The guests were welcomed by Bukhara region’s Hokim Botir Zaripov.

The delegation members got acquainted with the projects being implemented in Kagan district, financed by concessional loans from the Asian Development Bank. They visited modern greenhouses built on an area of 5.4 hectares, owned by the enterprises of Everest Green House and NRJ Agro Venture LLCs. The President of the Asian Development Bank asked about the export opportunities of enterprises and entrepreneurs’ opinions.

The total cost of the projects launched two years ago is $2.4 million. Of these, foreign investments amounted to $1.8 million. 54 people are provided with permanent jobs at enterprises capable of producing products worth $450 thousand annually. During the season, the number of employees reaches 200 people.

The guests visited historical-cultural monuments and sights of Bukhara. The ensembles of Poi-Kalon and Lab-i-Hauz, handicrafts trade centers, Bukhara Carpet Weaving Center, Samanids mausoleum and Ark fortress made a great impression.
