Director General of the Uzbek National Maqom Art Center S.Begmatov, First Deputy Director General of Uzbekistan Agency for Press and Information S.Shukurov and others noted that development of maqom art in the country is considered as one of the priority issues.
According to experts, the International Forum of Maqom Art, organized on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan on September 6-10 in Shakhrisabz, will become an important step in its global promotion, unveiling its uniqueness.
It is expected that about 300 experts from more than 70 countries will take part in the authoritative forum. Within the framework of the forum, a creative competition on maqom art will be held. Special attention at the event will be paid to the professional skills of foreign and local performers.
