Activation of tourist flows from Greece: flight launch and opening of a visa center

Greece delegation led by the owner of the Orange2Fly Greek Airline Company P.Sofianos and CEO at Orange2Fly Airlines S.A. I.Papaslanis arrived in Tashkent.

As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development, the purpose of the delegation’s visit is to further consider the issues discussed earlier in May for conducting negotiations on studying the opportunities of launching Athens – Tashkent – Athens flight and opening a Greek Visa Center.

On August 22, the delegation met with the leadership of the State Inspection of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Flight Safety and Uzbekistan Airways, where the details of launching the flight from Tashkent to Athens and from Athens to Tashkent on Orange2Fly aircraft were discussed.

On August 23, a meeting of the Greek delegation with travel companies was held for strengthening cooperation with representatives of tourism entities. The possibility of launching the flight, establishing cooperation, exchanging the tourist flow was discussed. A constructive dialogue was held between the travel companies and representatives of the Greece delegation.

Both countries have an agreement on all issues of the flight operation, it remains to finalize the process of establishing the flight and introducing appropriate amendments to intergovernmental documents on implementation of transportation between the two countries.

In case the flight launches, the owner of Orange2Fly expressed a desire to invest in tourism industry of Uzbekistan.
