Acharya University to start its activity in Karakul district

The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of July 5, 2023 provides for the establishment of the Acharya University in Karakul district of Bukhara region. The project is implemented jointly by the Regional Hokimiyat, the Acharya Institutes network (Republic of India) and the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the Resolution, the activities of the University as part of the IT Cluster will begin in the 2023/2024 academic year. Students will be trained on a grant and contract basis in full-time, part-time, evening and distance forms.

University graduates will be issued a standard diploma from Acharya Institutes, recognized as a document of higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A Student House (1,300 beds), a hotel (15 beds), an Incubation Center (100 places), a Remote Services Export Center (50 places), a canteen, outdoor and indoor sports complexes will be built in the territory of the IT Cluster.

The Acharya Institutes network was chosen as a partner for a reason. This educational institution began its activity in 1990 in the city of Bangalore – the center of industry and digital technologies. Acharya is in the top 40 strongest universities in the world in terms of the number of foreign students, young people from 75 countries study here.

Acharya University has submitted the documents required for obtaining a license to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, which means that it will begin its official activities in the near future.

The University offers programs in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Database Operations, and Cybersecurity. The main priority of the University, which will train 1440 students a year, is cooperation with such global IT giants as IBM, Microsoft, Google. It provides for the allocation of 100 grants for gifted students, benefits for students – children of teachers, the implementation of exchange programs with India, the UK and other states. Each student will be provided with a laptop.
