A conference dedicated to November 16 – International Day for Tolerance took place within the framework of the Global Media Congress. The event was attended by the UAE Government members, representatives of several foreign organizations and media workers.
The conference is aimed at studying measures implemented in ensuring interethnic solidarity and religious tolerance, analyzing tasks for the future, identifying shortcomings in this direction, developing proposals to address critical issues.
After hearing the report of the Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, the conference continued in the form of special panel debates on the role of the media.
It was announced that together with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the activities of the tolerance campaign were established. This will help cover the religious, cultural and ethnic aspects of tolerance in the UAE.
In the first two weeks of November, articles on the theme were published. The final stage of these works was a conference held within the framework of the Global Media Congress. A short documentary about the published articles was also shown at the beginning of the event.
The event also included a roundtable discussion on the role of media in the creation of a society of tolerance.
