Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov met with Deputy President of the Senate of Malaysia Nur Jazlan Mohamed.
Relations between Uzbekistan and Malaysia, as well as prospects for interparliamentary cooperation, were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that historical, cultural, and spiritual values connect Uzbekistan and Malaysia. In recent years, thanks to the firm political will of the heads of state, relations between the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level.
The historic visits of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to this country in February of this year and the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Uzbekistan in May of last year provided a significant impetus to the development of multifaceted relations.

The guests were informed about the ongoing reforms in the country, the structural composition of the Legislative Chamber, the lawmaking process, and activities in parliamentary control.
Nur Jazlan Mohamed expressed gratitude for the warm, friendly welcome, noted the historic reforms carried out in recent years under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the consistent strengthening of cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan.

“President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Malaysia became an important event”, says Nur Jazlan Mohamed. “We support the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the Head of State and advocate the development of inter-parliamentary relations”.
It was emphasized that to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties, it is essential to expand and intensify cooperation, effectively utilize parliamentary diplomacy, and exchange experiences in lawmaking.
