About 182 thousand voters voted early in Samarkand

In two days, elections of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local Councils will be held in Uzbekistan.

Intensive preparations are underway in Samarkand for this important political event. More than 2 million 156 thousand voters have been registered in the region, and 1,130 polling stations have been launched. All the necessary conditions have been created so that Uzbekistan citizens can exercise their rights and freely express their political will.

– Careful preparations for the elections are underway in the region, – says Sanjar Nazarov, Deputy Chairman of Samarkand Regional Territorial Election Commission. – 1,130 polling stations have been prepared, 410 districts have been created for holding elections to district and city councils, 60 districts – to regional councils, 8 districts – to the Legislative Chamber. There are no problems with public safety or technical support. In accordance with the Election Code and the decision of the Central Election Commission, early voting was held on October 16-23. In eight days, 181,926 voters voted early in the region. Ballots have been distributed to all polling stations in the region. In addition, the polling stations were fully provided with the necessary equipment and technical means, sets of regulatory documents, posters of candidates for deputies, and voter lists. Voters get acquainted with the list, and in case of errors and misunderstandings, they contact the commission. Currently, the precinct election commissions and mahalla citizens’ assemblies are distributing invitations to them.
