Abdulaziz Kamilov receives the U.S. delegation

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the U.S. delegation led by Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Adam Boehler.

The U.S. delegation also included USAID Acting Assistant Administrator Javier Piedra, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Kelley Currie.

Issues of further deepening multifaceted Uzbekistan – American relations, cooperation in strengthening regional integration in Central Asia, and activation of connectivity between Central and South Asia were discussed at the meeting.

The sides noted with satisfaction the mutual decision to launch the Strategic Partnership Dialogue, which is the key to the development of long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States in all areas.

They expressed their readiness to work together in such priority areas as economic development, modernization of agriculture and healthcare.

The American side highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s achievements in gender equality, strengthening the role and status of women in the political, economic and public life of the country.

Special attention was paid to practical aspects of the implementation of interregional investment and infrastructure projects aimed at stimulating economic ties and trade.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues on the bilateral agenda.

The negotiations were attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum.
