On December 13, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Assistant Secretary of State of the United States of America for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, who arrived in Tashkent to attend the first meeting of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue between Uzbekistan and the United States, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Current issues of cooperation, as well as international and regional policy, were discussed at the meeting. The parties expressed their mutual readiness to actively develop a constructive dialogue based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests.

The American side expressed its support for the program of democratic transformations and socio-economic reforms in the new Uzbekistan.

The U.S. representative also praised Uzbekistan's efforts to assist the Afghan people and promote projects in various fields.
