On December 3, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the current Chair of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Ann Christin Linde, in Stockholm, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Congratulating the Swedish side on the successful OSCE chairmanship, Abdulaziz Kamilov emphasized Uzbekistan’s commitment to enhancing constructive and mutually beneficial dialogue with this structure.

The mutual interest of Uzbekistan and Sweden in the development of bilateral relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres was confirmed. The schedule of the upcoming events, including holding the next round of inter-MFA political consultations, was considered.

It was noted that the planned opening of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Stockholm will contribute to a significant intensification of cooperation.

The parties also exchanged views and assessments on the situation in Afghanistan.
