Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov has met with Federal Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas.

According to MFA, current issues of Uzbekistan – Germany cooperation were discussed during the conversation.

The agenda and schedule of the upcoming joint events were considered.

The main attention was paid to the issues related to the current situation in Afghanistan. Heiko Maas once again expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for its assistance in organizing the evacuation of German and other foreign citizens from Afghanistan. The parties expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation in the Afghan direction.

Views were exchanged on cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations.

As previously reported, on August 17-18, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Angela Merkel. The leaders of the two countries considered current issues of Uzbekistan – Germany agenda and exchanged views on the current situation in the region.
