On May 11, 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held talks with the Governor of Shaanxi Province of the People's Republic of China Zhao Yide, in Xi’an, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties exchanged views on the state and prospects for the development of interregional cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the agreements reached on April 29 this year during a telephone conversation between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of China Xi Jinping.

The importance of further strengthening the partnership between Shaanxi Province and Samarkand region, as well as the cities of Xi'an and Samarkand was noted. Trade, economy, investment, energy, agriculture, science, technology and education were noted as priority areas of collaboration.

The Chinese side expressed its gratitude to Uzbekistan delegation for participating in the official opening ceremony of the Fifth Silk Road International Exposition.
