On October 19, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a telephone conversation with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, as well as upcoming events in the format of EU – Central Asia and Uzbekistan – EU, were discussed during the conversation.

The parties exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan. The European side highly appreciated the measures taken by Uzbekistan to help establish peace and stability in the neighboring country, as well as to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
