On 20 March 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Haneef Atmar, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The Foreign Ministers exchanged sincere congratulations and warm wishes in connection with the traditional spring holiday of awakening and renewal of nature – Navruz.

The ministers discussed the state and prospects of relations in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

The main attention was paid to the implementation of transport-communication, energy and other infrastructure projects, in particular, the construction of the Surkhan – Puli-Khumri power transmission line and Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway line.

The parties considered and agreed on a plan for the upcoming bilateral events.

Views were also exchanged on the issues of the joint agenda.
