The winners of the international contest for young directors “Movie in 5 Days” have been determined as part of the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”.
According to tradition, the contestants visited historical places of Uzbekistan, including Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Fergana, and Tashkent, where they shot short films.

Director of the Cinematography Agency Firdavs Abdukhalikov noted at the award ceremony that this contest created an excellent opportunity for the creative improvement of young people.
– I think that the contest, which united young filmmakers from different countries, has become a film competition and a festival project glorifying friendship and tolerance. The participants made and presented films about our country, and the jury members evaluated them. The main goal of the film festival is to provide young people with conditions for the full development of their potential and, of course, to encourage them, – Mr. Abdukhalikov said.

According to the final results, Dilshod Usmanov’s “Grapes” film won the “Best National Short Film” category. The movie “Uzbekistan is my dream” by Khilola Abdurasulova and “Omonat” by Nuria Safarova were awarded in the same category.

In the special category of films shot by foreign participants in the “Movie in 5 Days” competition, third place was awarded to Yakov Podkustov (Russia) for the film “Thread”, second place went to Edisa Toktorova (Kyrgyzstan) for the film “City of Dreams”.
First place went to Shirin Akhmadov (Azerbaijan) for the film “One Hundred Steps”.
The winners were awarded a cash prize and memorable gifts.
