The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, together with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, WRAP International Non-Governmental Organization, organized a workshop for Uzbekistan exporters of textile products on certification of compliance of the production process with social standards and safety criteria, Uzbekistan CCI reports.

The event was organized to familiarize Uzbekistan textile manufacturers with the requirements imposed by American brands and retailers on compliance with ESG standards by suppliers, as well as the WRAP certification system for further entry into foreign markets, increasing the volume of exports of textile products.

It was noted that the textile industry is one of the dynamically developing sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy, occupies a leading position in attracting foreign investment, providing employment, exporting products. It was also stressed that the American market for Uzbekistan textile manufacturers is one of the most attractive, but also the most difficult in terms of compliance with international standards and conditions for product quality certification.

Within the framework of the workshop, which was attended by more than 100 largest Uzbekistan manufacturers and exporters of finished textile products, a presentation on the WRAP certification was heard, during which the conditions and requirements, as well as the advantages of its passage were highlighted.
