A weaver-craftswoman from Surkhandarya’s Baysun district Rajaboy Tukhtayeva was also awarded the “Jasorat” medal by the Presidential Decree “On awarding a group of civil servants and workers of industrial and socio-economic spheres on the occasion of the 31st Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
Surkhandarya region’s Hokim Tura Bobolov visited the Tokchi mahalla and conveyed President’s congratulations to Rajaboy Tukhtayeva and solemnly presented her with this award.

63-year-old Rajaboy Tukhtayeva is engaged in knitting since childhood, studied the art of embroidery Suzane, skullcaps and other products. She expanded her activities, and now she teaches the secrets of folk craft to mahalla residents. The works reflect the beauty of their native land and the unique mountain landscapes of Baysun.
“I am extremely grateful to the President of Uzbekistan, who noted the modest work of a simple craftswoman and gave a high assessment”, says Rajaboy Tukhtayeva. – This award inspired me, gave me strength and energy. I will continue to make every effort to develop this type of handicraft inherited from our ancestors, and I will try to justify the trust. I cannot independently present my works abroad, but my students widely demonstrate them to the whole world. I am proud that I am involved in such an elegant art form.

Accepting the high state award, Rajaboy Tukhtayeva, with a sense of gratitude for today’s prosperous life, recited the dua, wishing peace and wellbeing to the country.
