A unique mural opens in Tashkent
11:31 / 2024-12-11

Tashkent hosted the grand opening of a new mural created in cooperation with the UNFPA and Safia Confectionery House. The project became part of the global campaign “16 days of active action against gender-based violence”.

The mural, located on the facade of the confectionery house building, is a touching image of a family where mutual respect, support, and care reign.

One of the key accents of the composition – a father reading a book with a child – symbolizes the importance of men’s participation in the life of their families, raising children, and creating a safe and supportive atmosphere in the house.

Using bright national patterns in the design emphasizes preserving cultural values and integrating them into modern initiatives to promote equality and counter violence.

At the opening of the mural, representatives of UNFPA and Safia Confectionery House noted that art is a powerful tool capable of delivering important social messages to a wide audience.

The goals and objectives of the project are to raise awareness of the problem of violence against women, promote the values of equality, and involve fatherhood and non-violent communication in the family. It is also intended to inspire society to take active action to prevent violence.

The author of the mural is a talented artist, Nadejda Rikhsillayeva, whose work combines deep meaning and vivid aesthetics.
