Kyrgyzstan hosted an International Energy Investment Forum.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the event was organized by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan with the support of the World Bank Group. Representatives of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Austria, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, officials of the European Union, and some international financial institutions attended it.
Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamahmudov took part in the forum.
The parties exchanged views on the activities carried out in Kyrgyzstan to reform the energy sector, the country’s investment opportunities, discussed the Kambarata HPP-1 project, and accelerating the transition to clean energy in Central Asia.
A trilateral agreement was signed between the Ministries of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan regarding the preparation for implementing the Kambarata HPP-1 construction and operation project.
An agreement was reached on further developing cooperation in energy, including in the direction of renewable energy sources and the creation of optimal mechanisms for using water and energy resources of Kambarata HPP-1.
