At the University of Geological Sciences, a meeting was held between representatives of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, the university’s leadership, the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, and specialists from the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR).
The parties discussed in detail the tasks planned for implementation under the project “Establishment of an integrated system for managing mineral resources and hazardous geological processes in Uzbekistan”.
Special attention at the meeting was given to the adaptation of KOMIR’s international experience and advanced technologies to Uzbekistan’s geological conditions. In particular, mechanisms for cooperation were identified in such areas as continuous monitoring of mineral reserves, early detection of potentially hazardous geological processes, reclamation of deposits, and restoration of the mineral resource base.
The Korean specialists expressed their readiness to provide professional assistance in studying the geological features of Uzbekistan’s mineral deposits, forecasting hazardous processes, and implementing an effective management system.
According to the Ministry’s press service, the project covers areas such as expanding scientific research, improving specialist qualifications, and establishing a modern laboratory base.
