Landscaping work is underway on the two banks of the main artery of the village of Nanay in Yangikurgan district of Namangan region, the Podshoota River. Soon a Sports and Recreation Complex will be created here.

At the beginning of the year, the Hokim of the region Shavkat Abdurazzakov visited this area and proposed to strengthen the river’s coastline, create a Sports and Recreation Complex, and turn this territory into a modern recreation area.

“Over the past period, large-scale activity has been carried out here”, says the Deputy Hokim of Yangikurgan district Murodjon Sotiboldiyev. – Before building a health path, we carried out work to strengthen the coastline with a length of 2 kilometers. Three selfie zones for tourists, workouts, a basketball court, a bike path and other infrastructure will be created on a special site. To date, 70 percent of construction work has been completed, and their total cost is 3.3 billion UZS. The process continues. The width of the Podshoota River, which originates from the Chatkal Mountains, is 50-200 meters long, if you count from neighboring Kyrgyzstan – 130 kilometers, and the parts that flow through the village of Nanay – 1.3 kilometers, from Nanay to Zarkent – 14 kilometers. Near the village of Nanay, the river goes through the mountains, where it creates a large overflow.
