A specialist from Uzbekistan elected AWF Vice President
At the meeting of the Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF), held in Doha, Deputy Minister for Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation Shakhrullo Makhmudov was elected AWF Vice President for a four-year term.
The current head of the AWF, Yousef Al Mana, retained the AWF presidency. Mohammed Alharbi from Saudi Arabia was elected Secretary General of the organization, Meng Bo from China, Choi Sung-Yong from South Korea and Shakhrullo Makhmudov from Uzbekistan were elected Vice Presidents. Our compatriot received the largest number of votes – 42.
The new composition of the Executive Committee of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, consisting of 11 people, has been approved. They will lead the weightlifting competition as AWF leaders at the Asian Summer Games in China this year, the Paris 2024 Olympics, continental and world championships over the next four years.
