Supporting initiatives to train qualified specialists is essential to multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Germany. A logical continuation of this process was the opening of the Representative Office of Universities of the Federal State of Saxony at the University of Geological Sciences.

The event organized on this occasion was attended by heads of various ministries and agencies, professors and teachers of higher education institutions, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Uzbekistan Dr. Tilo Klinner, Minister of Science, Culture and Tourism of the Federal State of Saxony Sebastian Gemkow.

The purpose of opening this representative office is to cooperate in training specialists in mining, geology, mechanical engineering, materials science, geoecology, economics, and business management and expand student exchange. It is also planned to organize courses in Uzbekistan to improve the professional training of young people who wish to study in Saxony.

At the event, participants got acquainted with information about the activities of the representative office and planned joint projects.
