A reliable bridge for the widespread dissemination of new ideas and technologies

On October 2, Tashkent hosted the events of the first day of the 4th World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE), organized by the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Indonesia, the UN Conference on Trade and Development and the World Intellectual Property Organization, the British Council, the Asian Development Bank Institute, Westminster International University in Tashkent.

The conference is attended by more than 2,000 local and foreign representatives of the sphere from 75 countries.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Assistant to the President Saida Mirziyoyeva, Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation Gayane Umerova, UNCTAD Secretary-General Ms. Rebeca Grynspan and others.

Speakers noted that this prestigious event, entitled “Inclusively Creative: A Shifted Reality”, serves as an important platform for discussing the future of the economy and the impact of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, on this rapidly developing field. The participants will consider the socio-economic challenges associated with rapid technological development and the role of creative industries in shaping a sustainable future.

As noted, the cultural and creative industries generate revenue of approximately $2.3 trillion annually, which is 3.1 percent of global GDP. This figure is expected to increase to 10 percent by 2030.

The three-day event includes plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops and masterclasses, and a series of competitions.
