A project worth $8.49 million will be implemented with KOICA

The Cultural Heritage Agency signed an agreement to implement a project worth $8.49 million with KOICA.

The signing ceremony was held with the participation of the Director of the Agency Bakhodir Abdikarimov and the Director of the KOICA Uzbekistan Office Shin Myung Seop.

The project, entitled “Digital Integrated Management and Use of Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan”, with a total cost of $8.49 million, will be implemented by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Art and Culture Development Foundation, an expert group of the Republic of Korea and the KOICA Uzbekistan Office from 2025 to 2028.

As part of this project, it is planned to develop a medium-term and long-term master plan for cultural heritage management, implement a digital database of cultural heritage sites, create a platform for managing sites, improve the qualifications of specialists, purchase equipment, and form an information base with digital tourism content on cultural heritage.

It was noted that the signed agreement will strengthen friendship and partnership between the two countries.
