13:06 / 2025-10-08

International consultants of the Asian Development Bank – Leonard Leung, Paolo Manunta, and William Willis visited the Nukus branch of the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology.

The guests held a meeting with the branch’s leadership, during which they exchanged views on the content and promising areas of the project “Sustainable livestock development in the face of climate change”, which is being developed jointly with the Committee of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Asian Development Bank.

It was noted that this project will contribute to the modernization of the country’s livestock industry, enhance the well-being of the rural population, and establish a production system that is adapted to climate change.

Then, the international consultants held a dialogue with the faculty of the branch, discussing issues related to scientific and practical activities, the quality of personnel training, and the introduction of digital technologies. During the meeting, proposals were presented for organizing advanced training courses for female teachers.

The guests became familiar with the scientific potential, educational process, and laboratory facilities of the branch and positively assessed the available opportunities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand scientific and practical cooperation, work on joint projects, and introduce innovative initiatives in animal husbandry.
