The fact of an increase in prices for basic food products due to seasonality was noted at the videoconference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The reason is that there is a shortage of refrigeration, drying, sorting, and storage facilities in 50 agricultural districts.

In this regard, the regional hokims, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, were instructed to adopt a program to increase the storage capacity of products in 50 districts of the country.

“There are funds for this, but no hokim knows how much capacity he has for storing products, how to use these funds”, the President said.

It was also noted that this year 670 billion UZS of credit funds have been used out of 1.5 trillion UZS allocated for the fruit and vegetable industry.

The fact that hokims represent only new projects and the volume of products received as a result of their sale has been criticized, but they do not have an answer to the question of how this will affect the pricing and provision of the population.

Hokims of the regions were instructed to submit specific plans and calculations for increasing the production of exported products within ten days, indicating the list of entrepreneurs and the projects they are implementing.
