The Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan is more than 80 years old, but during this period of almost half a century, no reliable source of data on Uzbekistan scientists has been created. Meanwhile, science in Uzbekistan has a glorious history in which women scientists also played a major role. In this regard, creating a website providing relevant information became necessary.

The website www.womeninscience.uz – Women scientists of Uzbekistan – has been developed in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Wonder Women, and the Asian Development Bank. It was created to familiarize the world community with women who have contributed to forming a unique scientific school in Uzbekistan and those who continue to develop it today.

The website is divided into two main sections. One part contains information about the lives and work of women who have left their mark on the history of science, such as Khadicha Sulaymonova, Galina Pugachenkova, and Maqsuda Khojanova. The other part is dedicated to five female academicians currently working at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Each section provides biographical information about doctors of sciences and professors engaged in research in various fields, as well as information about their achievements.

In the future, the website will be updated with new information about the lives and work of women scientists.
