The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha.

During the fruitful dialogue, the current state of bilateral relations was reviewed, and promising avenues for further expansion in all areas were explored.

The parties exchanged views on deepening cooperation with the standing committees and auxiliary structures of the OIC in education, science, innovation, culture, and climate change.

Hissein Brahim Taha highly appreciated the preparation process for the international event “Khiva – the Tourist Capital of the Islamic World in 2024”, which, as the Secretary General of the Organization noted, serves to popularize the scientific heritage of the great scientists of Uzbekistan, who made a significant contribution to the development of the Islamic world.

An agreement was reached to establish close cooperation between the Center for Islamic Civilization and the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture of the OIC in Istanbul and to strengthen ties in other areas.
