A major investment project is being implemented in Khavast district of Syrdarya region.

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Semanti Limited of the Republic of Cyprus and Khavast District Hokimiyat. 60 hectares of unusable land in Yangiyer mahalla will be occupied for the construction of a plant for the production of ammonia and urea.

The total cost of the project will be $562 million. The company will produce 1,500 tons of ammonia and 1,800 tons of urea per day. It is planned to employ 500 people.
