On May 2, 2024, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Nuriddin Ismoilov, met with members of the delegation led by the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Singapore, Seah Kian Peng.

During the dialogue, it was emphasized that thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries, a new era has begun in interstate relations, and every year, the friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Singapore is becoming stronger and stronger.

Issues of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, exchanging experience in rule-making, and intensifying cultural and humanitarian dialogue were discussed.

In turn, the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore noted that under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale reforms have been carried out in all areas in recent years. He became convinced of this by taking part in the Tashkent Investment Forum. According to the distinguished guest, this forum has become an effective platform for enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, discussing the most pressing issues, and developing important innovative ideas.

In addition, issues of further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, partnerships in transport, communications, tourism, and other areas between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to establish effective parliamentary control over agreements signed at the highest level.
