A new center established

A presentation of the International Strategic Centre for Agri-Food Development (ISCAD), established jointly with the Ministry of Agriculture and the European Union, took place in Tashkent.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maqsud Ruzmetov, Head of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan, Ambassador Charlotte Adriaen and Head of the EU Agriculture Support and Knowledge Facility (ASK) Adrian Neal, as well as almost 200 guests, representatives of international organizations, financial institutions, ministries and agencies.


“ISCAD is a multidisciplinary center for the strategic analysis of agricultural products, the purpose of which is to contribute to the development of more effective policy, programs and services for the development of farms and agribusiness, increasing competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets”, says Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maqsud Ruzmetov.

Head of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan, Ambassador Charlotte Adriaen informed about the cooperation between the EU and the Ministry of Agriculture and noted the role of the new center in the development of the agri-food sector.


“ISCAD is also responsible for the management of loans and projects provided by international financial institutions”, Director of the Center, Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture Alisher Shukurov said. – The goal is to ensure coherence, a logical sequence of projects, the implementation of an agricultural strategy, and increase the impact based on better data, research, and analysis.

The Head of the EU Agriculture Support and Knowledge Facility (ASK) Adrian Neal spoke about the role of the Center in the implementation of the Agricultural Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030 and its plans.

A presentation of the publications “Good Agricultural Practices” and “Uzbekistan Agri-Food Facts and Trends 2021/2022”, published by the Ministry of Agriculture with the technical support of the ASK Facility, took place.
