The opening ceremony of the campus, established by the Samarkand Agroinnovations and Research University and the Italian University of Tuscia, took place.
The idea of creation was put forward at the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni in Samarkand on May 29 and became a new area of scientific-educational cooperation between the two countries.

Then an official agreement was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and University of Tuscia.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Shukurov, members of the delegation led by Rector of University of Tuscia, Professor Stefano Ubertini, attended the opening ceremony.

At the event, the parties signed agreements on the development of joint educational programs in two bachelor’s and two master’s degrees: agronomy, food science and technology, organic agriculture, and closed-loop economics.

The creation of a joint campus is aimed at introducing innovative approaches to the education system of Uzbekistan, training qualified specialists and strengthening scientific-academic ties between the two countries.

It is planned to provide international scholarships and grants to students, establish academic exchange, implement joint research projects by scientists and researchers from the two countries, and organize international practices and internships for young people.
