In Uzbekistan, large-scale reforms are being implemented to support persons with disabilities, improve their quality of life, and ensure their full integration into society.
In this process, improving rehabilitation services in line with modern requirements and delivering them through the integration of medical and social services are becoming priorities.
As part of a working visit to the National Agency for Social Protection to Kashkadarya region, a newly constructed modern 96-bed complex building of the Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Center for Persons with Disabilities, intended for persons with disabilities, was commissioned.

This center is a practical outcome of the systemic reforms being implemented in social protection and rehabilitation in the country and provides comprehensive support to persons with disabilities. The center has introduced integrated services to restore citizens’ health, improve their quality of life, and increase their social activity.

The center is equipped with nearly 180 units of modern medical equipment of about 60 types. In particular, the only systems of their kind in the country have been introduced, including Alter-G, lymphatic drainage, membrane hydro-massage, TMS, EEG, X-ray, ECG, suspension rail systems, ultrasound diagnostics, and all types of laboratory tests. In addition, treatment based on the Bobath method, manual therapy, kinesiotherapy, sensory relaxation, speech therapy, and psychological services are provided.

It is noteworthy that today rehabilitation services are no longer limited to medical treatment, they also cover non-medical social rehabilitation. In particular, services aimed at restoring self-care skills among persons with disabilities, supporting their socialization, adaptation to society, and independent living are being implemented comprehensively.

This approach expands opportunities for persons with disabilities, ensures their active participation in society, and represents another practical expression of the state policy aimed at upholding human dignity.
