A meeting with the CIS observer mission takes place

The Central Election Commission held a meeting with representatives of the mission of observers for the early Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

At the meeting, the CEC Deputy Chairman B.Kuchkarov informed about innovations in the electoral legislation, activities carried out in preparing and conducting the Presidential Elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that the work of the election campaign is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code and democratic principles. In particular, the participants spoke about the work carried out in improving the theoretical knowledge and practical experience of members of election commissions on electoral legislation, the introduction of modern information-communication technologies in the electoral process, strengthening the role of women in elections, ensuring the electoral rights of citizens with disabilities.

The mission headquarters will start working in Tashkent to coordinate the activities of CIS observers and conduct all activities related to the organization of observations. The tasks of the mission headquarters include collecting, processing, and analyzing materials of the electoral process and conducting legal expertise of electoral legislation.

As mission representatives noted, it will conduct its activities openly, transparently, and objectively in preparing and observing the elections on July 9.
